Nathan Redfern - Young Occupational Hygienist of the Year Award 2009
At the December 2009 Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists annual conference dinner, Nathan Redfern was awarded the "Dräger Young Occupational Hygienist of the Year Award 2009" prize for a young professional hygienist [under the age of 36] who has made an outstanding contribution to the field. The award will see Nathan travel to the UK, Germany and Sweden to meet with fellow experts in indoor air quality, chemical exposures and military occupational hygiene.
Nathan Redfern is a Principal Consultant (OHS & Occupational Hygiene) and Divisional Manager (Health Safety Environment and Community) at Heggies Sydney office. Nathan’s principal area of expertise is the management of occupational hygiene with a particular emphasis on the assessment of asbestos and various chemical compounds. Nathan is a member of the Australian Standard committee CH31 – Workplace Atmospheres and is currently on the technical advisory group for Indoor Environmental Quality with the NSW Department of Energy Utilities and Sustainability. Nathan has conducted a number of seminars for the legal profession on asbestos risk management.
