SLR Heggies enters Valuations Space

Following Heggies successful merger with international environmental consultants SLR Management earlier this year, SLR Heggies is now in the process of expanding the range of consulting service offerings to their clients.

SLR Heggies is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Herdman as Technical Director, Valuation and Property Services. Darren has 19 years experience in International Extractive Industries, Mining and Waste Management (Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Europe and USA). Previous to this appointment, Darren was Director of Resources & Waste Management at International Property consultants, CB Richard Ellis based in Sydney. Prior to migrating to Australia in 2005, Darren was joint national head of the valuation and asset management team of SLR Consulting UK.

Darren is a licensed land and buildings valuer in the States of NSW and QLD. He is also a qualified Chartered Minerals Surveyor and Chartered Valuation Surveyor who specialises in Quarry Valuations, Mine Valuations and Landfill Valuations. Darren also provides independent specialist property, business, in-situ resource, landfill void space and operational mine and quarry valuation advice to each respective industry sector.

Darren’s mine, quarry and landfill valuation expertise ranges from private funding, first mortgage security, litigation, financial reporting in accordance with the International Accounting Standards, insurance, taxation (including tax consolidation), compensation, mergers, acquisitions and sales. Darren provides strategic consultancy advice on all types of resource-bearing land, including negotiating rent and royalty payments on behalf of companies and landowners. He has provided Expert Witness advice to the Victorian and New South Wales Supreme Courts, the NSW Land and Environment Court and The Land Court of Queensland. Darren is currently a Director on the Board of Management of the Mineral Industry Consultants Association and the Oceania representative on the Environmental and Resources Board of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Darren is also a member of the recently formed 2010 VALMIN Committee, tasked with reviewing the 2005 VALMIN Code.
