Construction of Brisbane's first major road tunnel from Wooloongabba (south of the Brisbane River) to Bowen Hills (north of the river).
Heggies undertook the noise and vibration components of the Environmental Impact Statement for both the construction and operational phases of the project.A detailed 3-D computer model of the tunnel portals was developed to assess road traffic noise levels following completion of the project. Where required, noise barrier design was undertaken and colour noise contor plots developed for community consultation purposes.Regenerated noise and vibration in buildings above the tunnel alignment were also predicted for the length of the tunnel to ensure construction impacts were adequately assessed.
