Airport Link Tunnel

Construction and Operational Noise and Vibration EIS

The primary puropose of the proposed Airport Link is to relieve traffic congestion and allow free-flowing traffic in Brisbane's northern suburbs. It would connect the northern arterials of Gympie Road, Sandgate Road and the Gateway Motorway (via the East-West Arterial) to the Inner City Bypass and the proposed North-South Bypass Tunnel at Bowen Hills.

Heggies has already carried out a route option analysis on the numerous proposed route options. Further work on this project includes conducting the construction and operational noise and vibration components of the EIS. This involved using a sophisticated modelling package, SoundPLAN.

Structure borne vibration and regenerated noise within the tunnel are amongst the numerous technical issues to be undertaken by Heggies.
