The New Environment (A Division of Heggies Pty Ltd) Wollongong office has conducted Asbestos Awareness presentations for a number of Industries where such materials may be present. As asbestos containing materials in various workplace environments continue to be identified, New Environment has been able to provide expert advice and training regarding precautionary measures to be taken when working with and around asbestos.
Asbestos Awareness Training sessions have included the following topics to increase safety in the occupational environment:*Health implications associated with exposure to asbestos containing materials;*Asbestos materials identification using safely contained representative asbestos samples;*Proper handling and disposal of asbestos containing materials;*The Correct Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):*The correct use of disposable coveralls;*Selection of respiratory protection;*Correct use of respiratory protection;*Maintenance of respiratory protection;*Correct disposal of PPE.
