Background
Mr Cotterill has over eighteen years
experience specialising in acoustics, vibration and
blasting. He is an Associate of Heggies.
The firm was established in 1978 and has offices in
Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and Melbourne with a total
staff of over seventy people.
Mr Cotterill has experience in a broad spectrum of
projects, including the measurement, assessment and
control of the impact of noise and vibration emissions
from a wide range of industrial, mining, quarrying and
construction projects, blast design and design of controls
for blasting in quarrying and mining, the assessment
of ground vibration and airblast emissions and investigations
of the response of structures and building occupants
to those emissions.
He is also experienced in the assessment of noise and
vibration associated with road and rail transportation
systems as well as in the acoustical planning of land
uses near such systems.
Mr Cotterill has prepared and presented expert evidence
at Commissions of Inquiry, Public Meetings and Hearings
in the Land and Environmental Court.
