Background

Nathan Redfern is an experienced consultant whose principal areas of expertise are in the management of occupational health & safety and occupational hygiene.

Nathan is also Heggies’ National OHS Manager and implements AS 4801, and is involved in the Heggies’ ISO 9001 Quality and NATA Accredited ISO 17025 management systems.

Nathan is a CASANZ representative - AS Committee CH31 Workplace Atmospheres and is currently on the technical advisory group for Indoor Environment Quality with the NSW Department of Energy Utilities and Sustainability.

Nathan has also conducted a number of seminars for the legal profession on asbestos risk management.

Co-Management of two large asbestos remediation programmes involving TEM/SEM analysis, and aggressive sampling techniques and actual exposure re-enactments.

 

Major NSW Area Health Service review of chemicals and instigation of occupational hygiene monitoring and controls and dangerous good storage

 

Significant assessment of smoke exposure (inhalation and dermal) to fire-fighters, including the use of biomonitoring and health surveillance

 

Extensive experience in Hazard and Risk Assessment Reports for major development applications (eg Botany Council) and national developers, include public liability

 

Assisted major transport and pharmaceutical company implement OHS& E management systems

 

Undertook investigative heavy metal exposure studies for international airline manufacturer

 

Co-authored a Health impact Assessment on silicosis for the EIS for a proposed sand mine
