Background
Peter Georgiou graduated from the University of Sydney (BSc, BEng HonsI) and spent the next 12 years at the University of Western Ontario?s BLWTL (MESc, PhD), where he was engaged in post-graduate teaching and consulting on a wide range of mainly high-rise engineering projects located in North America, Southeast Asia and Europe.
Since returning to Australia in 1989, Peter worked at the University of Sydney ’s Centre for Advanced Structural Engineering (Manager) and Vipac Engineers and Scientists (NSW Manager) prior to joining Heggies Pty Ltd in 1999.
Peter’s background combines an extensive academic record (including over 80 technical papers in refereed journals and technical conferences) plus an international track record in consulting activities ranging across a wide variety of industries.

Consulting Experience
Peter?s consulting projects in Australia and overseas (North America, Europe and Southeast Asia) span a broad range of engineering fields involving civil, structural and environmental engineering as well as (climatological-related) insurance risk. In most of these projects, Peter has had a strong technical as well as supervisory role; for example, Peter has been a Principal Engineer on many of Heggies? Southeast Asia and Middle East projects involving wind engineering and noise and vibration.
In addition to being a Heggies Director and the company?s Central Region General Manager, Peter oversees the company?s Strategic Business Development activities. Peter also continues to carry out post-graduate lecturing and has prepared and presented expert evidence at numerous formal hearings and within court jurisdictions (eg NSW Supreme Court and Land and Environment Court).
